Application Tools
Spray (low pressure garden sprayer recommended. Brushing, brooming or lambs wool applicator are also suitable. Do not use roller.
PRECAUTIONS:
Read the Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet carefully prior to use as application or performance data may change from time to time.
Coverage: Approximately 4-8m2 per litre depending on substrate profile and porosity.
Not suitable for previously sealed concrete.
PREPARATION:
For newly cured and unsealed old concrete
Ensure concrete is sufficiently cured (recommended minimum 28 days) and structurally sound.
Carry out water beading tests in a representative number of areas of surface. If water beads, then this product is not suitable or surface treatments (such as bond breakers) will need to be removed.
Concrete is to be clean and free of loose particles, concrete laitance, mould/algae, grease, oil, adhesives, paint, curing agent or any chemicals.
A stiff broom and general purpose cleaner recommended. Any oil stains should be treated & cleaned with an industrial degreaser. Pressure clean surface at minimum 2000 psi and allow to dry.
Acid etch with hydrochloric acid. Dilute approximately 20 parts water to 1 part acid (depending on concrete porosity) to remove any loosely bound cement and laitance.
Note: Smooth concrete has lower porosity and will require a higher acid content. Maximum strength 10 parts water to 1 part acid.
APPLICATION STEPS:
1. Mix or shake product prior to ensure it is homogenous. The product can leave a patchy finish if not mixed well prior to use.
2. Apply a heavy, even coating to the substrate ensuring surface has been fully covered. Allow the sealer to penetrate the surface for five minutes.
3. If the sealer has fully absorbed into the surface after five minutes, an additional coat should be applied immediately. Ensure all subsequent applications are light and even to prevent pooling. For highly porous surfaces, multiple coats may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
4. Any excess sealer that has not absorbed into the surface within ten minutes of application must be removed using a lambswool applicator, microfibre cloth or clean rag. Allowing unabsorbed sealer to dry on the surface will lead to a visible cloudy residue remaining on the surface.
Note: Do not apply an additional coat if the previous coat has dried. Once dry, the product will no longer penetrate and may result in white cloudy residue on surface.
Refer to Local Council or State/Territory Land Waste Management Authority for disposal.
Do not re-use container.
