All preparation and painting must conform to AS2311: The Painting of Buildings.
Do not use at temperatures below 10C, or when the temperature of the surface may fall below 10C during the drying period. Although the film is dry to touch in 30 minutes allow 7 days for film to fully cure before washing.
Tinted Colours
Ensure that the paint is thoroughly shaken and stirred immediately after addition of tinter to the can and again before use. Darker colours will show more signs of marking and scuffing than lighter colours - if you are considering using a dark colour in a high traffic area you may want to consider a higher sheen level or the use of a protective clear coat.
• Do not apply paint if the temperature is below 10°C or likely to fall below 10°C during the drying period. All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of all loose dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated.
Previously Painted Surfaces
Surfaces must be sanded to remove loose, peeling, flaking or chalky paint. Sand all gloss and semi gloss surfaces to a dull finish and wipe down with a damp cloth to remove surface dust. Spot prime any areas that have been repaired or are bare.
Bare Paperfaced Wallboard
Brush down to remove any surface dust. Apply one coat of Dulux Professional Total Prep® Acrylic or Dulux Professional Acrylic Sealer Undercoat.
Bare Set Plaster, Fibrous Plaster and Plasterglass
Brush down to remove any surface dust. Apply one coat of Dulux Precision Sealer Binder.
Bare Timber
Fill nail holes with a suitable flexible wood filler and sand smooth. Sand all dressed timber. Dust off. Apply either one coat of Dulux Professional Total Prep Acrylic or Dulux Professional Acrylic Primer Undercoat. For light colours or when painting over tannin rich timbers such as cedar, merbau or oregon, apply one coat of Dulux Professional Oil Based Primer Sealer Undercoat to prevent stains.
Brush/Roller
Use a medium nap roller (12mm). Pre-wet brushes and rollers with water before commencing application. Avoid excessive brushing or rolling back into the paint which has been drying for more than 3 minutes. Thinning not usually required however, if necessary, thin with up to 100 ml of water per litre to ease application.
Apply two coats of Dulux Professional Interior Matt Premium Acrylic.
Note: Some colours may require more than two coats, especially when painting over dark colours.
Airless/Conventional Spray
Suitable for application by all standard spray equipment. If necessary, thin up to 125ml per litre with clean water to aid atomisation.
