Pre-painted metal surfaces: Scrape off all loose and flaking paint. Sand all surfaces to a bright metal finish using P600 sandpaper and dust off. DO NOT touch the sanded surface at any time from now until the coating step is completed, unless using a clean cotton cloth or wearing lint and acid free cotton gloves. Aluminium, copper, brass and other similar metals (including alloys when using the brush on pack only): Remove stains, marks and imperfections with a metal polish and then wash the surface with mineral turpentine. Once dry, apply Dulux Metalshield® Brass & Copper Clear Spray Paint in multiple light coats. Do not handle surface prior to applying Dulux Metalshield® Brass & Copper Clear.

Before spraying: Shake can well for one minute after the ball starts rattling and regularly during use.  Lower temperatures and high humidity will slow the drying and affect the gloss level. Avoid spraying when air or surface temperature is below 10°C or above 30°C.
During spraying: Hold the can upright 10 to 25cm from the surface. To ensure surface compatibility, test spray on inconspicuous area. Spray with smooth even strokes, parallel to the surface. Apply several light mist coats rather than one heavy coat, which can cause runs and sags. After spraying: Prevent blocking by turning the can upside down and spraying until clear gas emerges. Also wipe front of nozzle clean. Clean up overspray while it is still wet with mineral turpentine.
